This
residential addition, located within walking distance of the beach on
Oak Island, was uniquely designed to maintain the cottage charm
of this coastal home while converting the single story home to a two-story
home.
The existing single story home was
raised to become the second floor while an entirely new first floor was
constructed on the ground level.
An elevator and internal staircase
were added for access to the second floor, which was renovated to provide a
modern kitchen along with two new guest bedrooms and a screened porch.
The first floor now provides ample
garage and workshop space along with secondary living quarters.
